Uneven PDSCH QPSK symbol scaling when using 25 PRBs bandwidth
I encountered this problem when I changed the UL/DL bandwidth to 25 PRBs in the config file gnb.sa.band41.fr1.52PRB.usrpb210.conf: dl_carrierBandwidth = 25; ul_carrierBandwidth = 25;
. There, I noticed that in the graphical gNB scope, the QPSK constellation for PDSCH is not evenly scaled, meaning that some symbols have a larger amplitude than the others. This can be seen in the screenshot here, where the PDSCH constellation consists of eight points in total and looks like two differently scaled QPSK constellations laid on top of one another:
The same problem occurs when I use my own gNB config file for NR band n24 that also uses 25 PRBs bandwidth. Looking at the DL resource grid, I've noticed that two subcarriers transmit with a higher power (yellow lines) than the other subcarriers (teal lines):
