OpenAirInterface Software Alliance (OSA) plans to organize its workplan around alliance projects. Each project falls within one of the Strategic Areas (http://www.openairinterface.org/?page_id=1098) and is intended to solve a particular application (for ex. Cloud-RAN, SDN, NFV, LTE/WiFi coexistence, etc). Each project must be approved by the board and needs to have following documents in place before presented for approval to the board.
Project sponsor: The alliance member (strategic/associate) who intends to put resources for at least one year to ensure proper functioning of the project. There could be multiple project sponsors. Ideally, projects sponsors is a mix of academic/industrial members of the alliance
Project goals/milestones/planning for one year developed with the feedback from the community
Project management committee (PMC): PMC is comprised of alliance members. It is responsible for developing roadmap with Project leader/Technical Program committee (TPC). It reports to the TPC through project leader (Every quarter) regarding progress of the project. PMC is also responsible along with project leader to ensure project meets quality in terms of (coding guidelines,
Project leader: Nominated yearly by PMC and reports to TPC every quarter on the progress of the project.
Developers: List of initial committers in the project. These are also members of the OAI community who have signed license agreements and have write access to the project repository
Project should also list which strategic area(s) it falls under and which application scenario it intends to solve.
